PBA and Pacquiao Made History. A Very Miserable History.

Yesterday, PBA officially opened its gate, to clowns. On the 11th pick of the first round KIA Motors picked Congressman and 8th Division World Champion Manny Pacquiao in their young pool.

KIA Motors is the newest addition to the leagues rosters, together with another team which I think is Blackwater. Worst of all, Pacquioa will be KIA's playing coach. Oh My God, is the only words my brain and mouth can produce as of the moment. I am not also sure if what will they produce if I will watch him play. If I will, that is the question.

By allowing Pacquiao to play and coach at the same time, you are putting him in the upper echelons of the playing coaches of Asia's oldest professional basketball league. The likes of Norman Black, Ramon Fernandez and Robert Jaworski Sr. Just Imagine that.

Not only that, currently, he will be trading wits with Grand Slam and Multi-Titled Coaches such as Norman Black, Yeng Guiao and Tim Cone to name a few. Oh, also, I almost forgot he will don a KIA jersey and play.

Somebody please kill me now.

I am not questioning his physical condition, for sure he will outclass veterans and rookies, that are half of his age, stamina wise. But it's not just about physical conditioning, Skill is the biggest factor of them all, it's not a God given skill or can be bought in some God knows what store.

Skills that a professional player honed since the time they took basketball seriously. Years of handwork, dedication, perseverance, failures, heartaches, injuries and on and on. Yes, Pacquiao had years and years of skills, stamina and agility training, in boxing.

Let's flip it around, if in case some will not get my analogy or my agony in this case.

Let's take Danny Ildefonso for example, his age or close to, a veteran, won championships over championships through the course of his career and booked individual achievements as well. Get him in a ring and go toe to toe with say, Pacquiao. Even a 1st grader will know the outcome.

Same for him joining the league.

Yes, everybody knows that this move is a part of a grand marketing scheme of PBA and KIA, but I hope this won't back fire on them. To which I am starting to doubt now.
